Kalau ngomongin band yang dibentuk tahun 2007 ini, pasti nggak jauh-jauh sama musiknya yang bernuansa gelap dan juga beda dari yang lainnya. Kamu pasti tahu dong sama single Dog Days Are Over, Shake It Out hingga You’ve Got The Love? Yes, they are Florence and The Machine!

They claim theirselves as an alternative-rock band from London that made their debut with released Lungs in 2009. Consisting of lead singer Florence Welch, Isabella Summers, and a collaboration of other artists. The band’s music received praise across the media, especially from the BBC, which played a large part in their rise to prominence by promoting Florence and the Machine as part of BBC Introducing. The band’s music is renowned for its dramatic and eccentric production and also Welch’s vocal performances.

Florence and the Machine’s sound has been described as a combination of various genres, including rock and soul. Lungs won the MasterCard British Album award at the 2010 BRIT Awards. At the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, Florence and the Machine were nominated for Best New Artist. Additionally, the band performed at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards and the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize Concert.

Tahun ini, mereka kembali dengan merilis album baru mereka How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. It was the first single that comes from the album. Written by Florence Welch, Kid Harpoon and John Hill, and produced by Markus Dravs.

According to lead vocalist Florence Welch, the song represents a new guitar-driven sonic direction for the band. “It’s got very loud guitars and that was very fun to record actually,” she said in an interview. “Trying to get exactly the right tone of guitar – I never realised how complicated that is. It took us forever…. Every day there’d be a different guitar sound. We ended up layering with three different guitar sounds, one on top of the other, in order to create this one song.”

Jadi, feel the gloomy and the dark of this song, our #CentreStage:
